Tubing Specifications

• Manufactured using an Uponor-proprietary technology, Uponor helioPEX™ X2 is an oxygen-barrier PEX pipe that conforms to DIN 4726 and is designed as a competitive alternative for residential radiant heating applications.
• The pipe features exceptional workability, flexibility, and kink repairability and is backed by a 25-year limited warranty.
• Uponor helioPEX X2 is rated and listed by the Hydrostatic Stress Board of PPI at 93.3°C (200°F) at 80 psi, 82.2°C (180°F) at 100 psi, and 23°C (73.4°F) at 160 psi.
• The product offering is available in ½", ⅝", or ¾" coils and is compatible with ProPEX® ASTM F1960 expansion, ASTM F2080 compression, and ASTM F1807 crimp fittings.

Note: Uponor helioPEX X2 is not approved for potable-water applications.

Manifold Specifications

• The 1 1⁄4" Stainless-steel Manifold Assembly with flow meter comes fully assembled and ready for installation.
• Use the included flow meters located on the supply manifold to balance the loops across the manifold.
• The return manifold comes equipped with isolation valves for easy loop isolation. For multiple zoning on the manifold, the black caps are removed and replaced with Uponor Thermal Actuators.

As of today, here is the approximate time frames required before concrete or paving can be poured.

Once inspection is passed by the City, concrete can be scheduled and poured.

The Work Order

Scope includes:

• The completion of the permit design package (required before permit is submitted)
• Submit documents and request permit
• Complete a pre-installation site visit and determine best location for the new boiler and manifold station
• Supply and install pex insulation over prepared ground (ground is prepared by concrete contractor)
• Supply and install Helio-pex tubing on top of rebar and wire mesh (rebar and wire mesh is installed by concrete contractor)
• Supply and install two (2) snow melt sockets in the outdoor surface, and cap and secure it in the garage
• Supply and install valved manifolds c/w flow meters on the side of the garage closest to the boiler system
• Supply and install the three (3) new NTI boilers, model TRX, in cascade inside the garage and connect to manifolds
• Supply and install the natural gas piping to the boiler system, must be within 25 feet of the gas meter
• Supply and install the required mechanical accessories to work with the boilers
• Supply and install the automatic feeder with freeze protection heat transfer fluid for the tubing and manifolds
• Setup the system and controls and commission into service

Project notes:

• Customer to provide a secure location for materials delivery and storing
• As the insulation is being installed, the concrete contractor must follow, installing the rebar and wire mesh to ensure that the insulation stays securely in place at all times.
• Before concrete is poured, the concrete contractor is to install "chairs" to raise the tubing 2"

Scope does not include:

• Home gas line alterations or re-sizing
• Concrete work, ground preparation, rebar and new concrete pour
• Electrical outlets must be available in the garage for use.
• The gas meter should be located within 25 feet of the garage. If it exceeds this distance, we will provide a quote for the necessary additional gas line.
